The Established Low-Cost Steppingstone Into Motorsport Founded In 1996
 Nick Staveley Stanley COVKARTSPORT President Nick Stanley, founded this not-for-profit club in 1996 and has piloted it through 13 very successful years!
Nick is semi-retired from running his own business and now carries out voluntary work for Myton Hamlet Hospices as well as charity fund raising work. Nick commenced COVKARTSPORT's own 3-charity fund that donates to Myton Hospice, the local Air Ambulance and the Cancer Ward Appeal at Coventry University Hospital! His passion for Motor Racing prompted him to look at ways of offering competitive karting at affordable prices. Nick raced for many years at National level and still holds an MSA National "A" Race Licence and, together with Peter Realf, often tests out new karts and new circuits on behalf of the club. He acts in close liason with each circuit on race days and is Clerk-of-the-Course in the interpretation of COVKARTSPORT's regulations - In matters requiring discipline he will act jointly with Peter Realf and Stuart Lindsay. He is also responsible for Public Relations and organising the end of season Awards Dinner. Nick designed and developed the complex COVKARTSPORT grid schedules that offer perfect lateral mixing of drivers and probably the fairest mathematical system of starts within the world of motorsport! Nick is married with one daughter. His wife Barbara, a teacher, helps out with the organising and acts as one of the two Official Race-day Scorekeepers with Donna Lindsay. His daughter, Jayne, married COVKARTSPORT driver Richard Middleton in 2007.

 Peter Realf Vice President Peter Realf joined the club at the end of 1996 and, like Nick, he shares a life-long passion for all things motorsport. Married with 3 children Pete is an early retired commercial photographer who for 20 years ran the professional Photographic Unit of Tesco Stores across the UK & Europe. He also works with 29F (Rugby) Squadron Air Training Corps, taking Cadets to various activities such as flying, gliding, kayaking and of course karting, and is the Squadron Treasurer and Media & Communications Officer. Peter has helped to run and organise COVKARTSPORT since 1997. He has the job of negotiating with circuits to obtain the keenest rates for COVKARTSPORT which allows all of our members to race at the lowest possible price and he very much enjoys his role testing out new circuits and new circuit lay-outs. With a near identical weight to Nick (84kgs), and almost inseparable lap times for the last 10 years, the pair are capable of giving highly intelligent and meaningful joint-testing evaluations of new karts and new circuits. The pair will always visit and test-out a new circuit before it's inclusion into the COVKARTSPORT calandar. Peter is the club's official professional photographer and Press Officer. He does a considerable amount for us on the public relations front and, together with Stuart and Nick, forms our "Race Day Committee." |
 Stuart Lindsay Vice President Stuart Lindsay, who is a Senior Operations Manager for the National dairy produce group DAIRY CREST, joined the club in 2000 with his son Ryan. When Stuart is not involved with COVKARTSPORT he is invariably supporting and helping his son Ryan who is now a single-seat racing car driver! Stuart is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of our operation on race days. He developed the computer software to carry the COVKARTSPORT grid-schedules operated by our two scorekeepers on laptop computers. Stuart also manages the COVKARTSPORT Website which includes compiling all the scores & lap times from the day's racing and publishing them onto the site. As most of our members know (and appreciate) - Stuart often has much of the race-day information published onto this website on the same day as the races despite having endured a tiring day organising at COVKARTSPORT! He forms an equal one third part of our Race-day Committee. Stuart's daughter Sian races in the Senior Lightweight class and his wife Donna, who works for a large building society, also helps out on race day being one of our two official score-keepers. Son Ryan, still tries to race at COVKARTSPORT (whenever possible) which gives the Lindsays a total family involvement! |
It should be noted that the organisers constantly liase with each other and never make decisions, affecting members, on a unilateral basis!
